HITTING BACK AT CBFC OVER ‘MAATR’, RAVEENA TANDON SAYS CENSOR BOARD IS BOUND BY ARCHAIC LAWS :

Raveena Tandon‘s comeback film ‘Maatr’ has landed in trouble with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The film, which talks about the sensitive issue of rape, was reportedly refused certification owing to some gruesome scenes that were deemed inappropriate for viewing by the Board.   Enough is enough ! Let the viewers decide what they should watch. CBFC is only to certify the age limits for viewing.Sonu Bhartiya  This decision has understandably not gone down well with the actress. Talking to a leading daily, Raveena asserted that the Censor Board is bound by “archaic laws” and it should consider changing with the times. She further went on to say that a film like ‘Maatr’ needs to be told without sugarcoating the content. Raveena also added that if we don’t show the reality, then the audience will remain indifferent to brutality and rape will still remain a taboo.  The Times of  India : 17th. Apr,17
