SUPREME COURT FIXED 2-YEAR DEADLINE FOR VERDICT ON BABRI MASJID DEMOLITION CONSPIRACY CASE :

The Supreme Court fixed a two-year deadline for the verdict. The CBI will ensure the presence of at least one prosecution witness every day. The court also says the judge at Lucknow will not be transferred. There are two trials being held — one at the Lucknow court and one at Rae Bareli.   Advani, 89, along with party colleagues like Uma Bharti and Murli Manohar Joshi, are charged with making inflammatory speeches that motivated lakhs of right-wing volunteers or karsevaks to pull down the mosque in 1992. This trial is being held in Rae Bareli.  However, 20 people in connection with the actual demolition of mosque are also being tried in a court in Lucknow.   The Rediff.com : 19th. Apr,17
