Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Lakshya of the Indian Air Force (IAF) today crash landed at Chandamuhi village under Baliapal block in Balasore district of Odisha.  Though the reason behind the crash is yet to be ascertained, sources said a technical glitch may have scuttled the flight of Lakshya and brought it down to the ground.  “There may be some technical reason behind the accident. A team of Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) rushed to the spot after the incident. There was no loss of life and property,” said Balasore Superintendent of Police (SP) Niti Shekhar.  According to locals, they heard a loud noise at around 11.30 am while working at farmland.  After heading towards the direction of the noise, they found the aircraft on a patch of agricultural field.  Developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), Lakshya is a pilotless target aircraft (PTA). It is remotely operated from the ground to provide aerial targets for training.  The Odisha Sun Times Bureau : 21st. Apr,17
