“EARLIER OUR FILMS PLAYED UP THE MOTHER AS A FIGURE OF PERFECTION” : SAYS JUHI CHATURVEDI

As comes Mother’s Day, we dive down in Indian cinema to introspect the portrayal of mothers in films, down the years. The B-town brigade talks about the reel moms in a complete lowdown on the occasion.   Juhi Chaturvedi who wrote the ground breaking film ‘Vicky Donor’ says, “Earlier, our films played up the mother as a figure of perfection. She couldn’t have her own desires because she had a certain image to live up to.”  The Times of  India : 14th. May,17
