A few days after Mother’s Day, Bollywood lost one of its most endearing mother figures, Reema Lagoo. Aged 59, she succumbed to a cardiac arrestat a suburban hospital in Mumbai in the early hours of Thursday. Her current assignment was ‘Naamkaran’, based on Mahesh Bhatt’s film, ‘Zakhm’. Her sudden demise has left several of her colleagues in a state of shock and grief.  Reema came to be recognised as the most prominent mother figure in the 1990s and early 2000s. She played a funny, yet charming mother-in-law in Tu Tu Main Main, a comic spin on the saas-bahu relationship. The show was one of the most popular comedy TV shows in that era. She has played mother to almost every Bollywood A-lister, including Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Madhuri Dixit, Ajay Devgn, Sanjay Dutt and Kajol. Her memorable films remain Hum Aapke Hain Koun..!, Maine Pyaar Kiya, Hum Saath-Saath Hain, Kal Ho Naa Ho, Dilwale, Yes Boss and Vaastav, to name a few.  The Times  of  India : 19th. May,17
