Akshay Kumar‘s  Independence Day weekend release, ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha‘ (‘TEPK’), is a love story set in a small town in India. Co-starring Bhumi Pednekar, it promises a satirical take on the menace of open defecation. The trailer of the film, helmed by Shree Narayan Singh, releases today. Produced by Cape of Good Films, Friday Filmworks and Abundantia Entertainment, and presented by Viacom 18 Motion Pictures and KriArj Entertainment, the movie opens in cinemas on August 11.  Ajit Andhare of Viacom18 Motion Pictures, says, “The title is so intriguing that I can’t wait to see the trailer. Congratulations to the producers for this unique film; they are surely creating a niche for themselves. And best wishes to Akshay, who is on a dream run.” The film also looks at the shift in traditional mindsets, and the wave of true social change that is set to transform India as we progress to becoming a global superpower.  Ajit adds, “This is the kind of high-concept script we yearn for. We’d been after this subject for a while and when Prernaa brought this up, I was excited about it being our very first partnership with her company. This will truly be a rewarding journey.” Prernaa Arora of KriArj Entertainment, enthuses, “When we partnered with Plan C for this film, we also got an opportunity to co-present it with Viacom 18. It has truly been a wonderful journey together and we will announce our next shortly.”  The Times  of  India : 11th. June,17
